Hermès Scarf 90 cm – Galop Chromatique – Benoit-Pierre Emery (2012)

VENDU

This is where the horse meets kinetic art. Issued in 2012, the "Galop Chromatique" scarf (Chromatic Gallop) is the work of designer Benoit-Pierre Emery, known for his bold graphic interpretations. Here, the horse's gallop is broken down by light and colour, recalling Muybridge's early chronophotographs or a modern zoetrope.

In this Tonal Blues version (Navy, Royal Blue, Sky, Silver Grey), the scarf becomes electric. Beams of colour radiate from the centre, creating a fascinating optical illusion once the scarf is tied. It is an architectural, unisex and resolutely contemporary piece, presented here in new condition with box.

A word from Diane
This is a piece of striking modernity. With "Galop Chromatique", Benoit-Pierre Emery propels the Hermès equestrian heritage into the age of digital and optical art. It is a scarf that literally vibrates. I love this scarf for its energy. Unlike floral or narrative designs, this one is purely visual and rhythmic. It is the ideal scarf to liven up a strict outfit (a grey blazer, a black coat). Folded, it shows only graphic stripes and flashes of blue; unfolded, it reveals all its technical complexity. A centrepiece for those who love "Modern Hermès".

Note: Authenticated and inspected piece. The photos show the exact item sold.
