Hermès Pleated Scarf 90 cm – Le Laisser Courre – Jean de Fougerolles (1979, reissued 1989 and 1991)
VENDU
Created by Jean de Fougerolles, Le Laisser Courre (The Release of the Hounds) was first issued in 1979, then reissued in 1989 and 1991. This is a rare pleated version, much sought after.
This scarf depicts a key moment of the hunt with hounds: the "laisser courre", the solemn moment when the hound handler releases the pack, marking the start of the chase. More than a hunting scene, this scarf evokes a ritual, a codified celebration of nature, in which grandeur, violence and beauty come together in an ancient ceremonial, deeply rooted in the aristocratic imagination.
Condition: New, never worn. You will receive this scarf clean, cared for, ready to wear or to give, presented in its original round Hermès box.

What Is an Hermès Pleated Scarf?
Pleated scarves are a unique interpretation of the legendary 90 × 90 cm Hermès scarf, whose silk has been worked into permanent pleats. It is not a different weave, but artisanal pleating applied after the design has been printed, creating a three-dimensional texture that turns the object into a textile sculpture.
This accordion pleating, carried out in the Hermès workshops or under their supervision, gives the scarf suppleness, structure and volume. It drapes around the neck or shoulders differently from a traditional scarf, offering plays of light and elegant movement each time it is worn.
Main features:
Format: 90 × 90 cm before pleating (smaller once pleated). Material: 100% silk twill. Permanent pleating (not reversible). A fluid yet structured effect, very flattering worn as a collar or headband. Rare and increasingly sought after by collectors
Care advice:
Pleated scarves must not be ironed, or they will lose their relief. They are stored rolled (often in a round Hermès box designed for the purpose), away from humidity.
They should be dry-cleaned, by a professional familiar with this type of silk.
All our scarves have been carefully inspected by our team and are guaranteed authentic indefinitely.
